Hope needs our help!
Update 6/5/2025- I chose the song "Indomitable Spirit" for this post, because that is exactly how I would describe Hope. Indomitable means unconquerable; impossible to defeat or frighten. She had to have been out there wandering around for a very long time, given her condition. Her bloodwork results are back and as suspected, Hope is hyperthyroid and will be receiving two medications daily to help control her condition. Her kidneys are not yet involved, and we will do all we

Lots of Action at Our Sanctuary
This little family has stolen my heart! Missy (the mom) is going back to her finder once babies are weaned and she is spayed. She will be kept indoors, as it is not safe out there! Five babies (four boys) weigh 1.1 on down to .82 lbs. We are thrilled that they landed here safely and that we had the space for them. They've taken possession of the luxury condo that Clementine and her five red heads occupied before they left for their foster home. (it's a revolving door around h

Please Help If You Can
Our Adoption Coordinator, Kathy Hunt, was kind enough to make the run to pick up litter and food for our residents, as I was double-timing it caring for the new admissions. Today was a very expensive day! Here's the breakdown: First thing this morning: Our A/C went out due to a clogged drain line. Farrell sent someone right away - $320 Supplies: For the adults: Litter: $83; Kibble: $309; Can food: $250; For the moms and kittens: Kibble and can food $300; Dewormer, flea preven

Donations Needed
Have you ever imagined what feeding 50 cats their canned food would be like? Trust me, it's an adventure. It's believed that cats should have wet food (25% of their intake) daily for optimum health. We go through 32-36 (5 oz. cans) of it with each feeding. Aside from the cost, the time involved is significant. Our residents are served wet food two-three times a week, and they have water fountains in every room to help with hydration. Opening all those cans, then later cleanin

Three generations: Grandmom: Calista, Mom: Carly; Littles: seven of them!
So, here we have a total of eight, all of whom need proper vetting. The bare minimum per cat to be ready for adoption is $100 providing there are no medical issues. (not including various food/litter/housing costs) If you are so inclined, here's the link to our donation options: https://linktr.ee/thelittlecatsrescue No amount is too small to matter. Every dollar makes a difference. And every dollar and every share and every adoption are greatly appreciated - with purrs and

Update: I couldn't shake it Something didn't add up. I took the bloodwork to Dr. Campos. He said he was surprised the cat was alive by the time I got there. He said it clearly was rat poison. ******** How does one fall in love with a cat in just a few minutes? I named him Bretzee, in honor of the gentleman who discovered him under his vehicle. He had been there for two days, crying. The man called so many rescues for help, but none came. (not even PCAS). Bret was beside himse

Remember Snow?
She came to us on 11/22/25 at death's door. She was found on a sidewalk in Tampa; an 89-year-old gentleman took her in, during the week he had her, she didn't eat anything. He tried many other rescues to no avail. His daughter found us, and well - here we are several months later. To date, this precious senior (maybe 11 years old) has cost us over $1,700. (removal of seven severely infected teeth, meds and several blood tests later!). While she has made great improvement with

Today was magical!
Lisa and Ramon had originally applied to adopt Kami. But when they got here, Ramon realized that he wanted kittens. Lisa wanted a big bushy Maine Coon or similar. Kami was disinterested. Two weeks later, Kami was adopted by his purrfect match, and when I offered Lisa and Ramon to "foster/adopt" the Ragdolls, you'd have thought they won the bazillion dollar lottery! We've learned over these 25 years that patience is important in matching kitties and humans. Always go with your

Still Waiting...
Kami is still waiting for his purrson to materialize. He has a very dominant purrsonality. Kami knows what he wants and isn't shy about telling you. He requires an experienced adopter, one who isn't easily intimidated. What does he want? Why, another Churro, of course. Delivered with lots of head scratches.
