Snow and Maybelle

UPDATE: Snow appears to be responding to the meds. She's eating!!!! Bloodwork repeat tomorrow and maybe dental, as the many rotten teeth are the cause of the raging infection. Paws crossed.

 Maybelle is ready for adoption.

The invoices are difficult to see, but here they are - yesterday's vet bill for Snow and Maybelle. If you click on them, you will see the details and the total of $934.89. We received a significant discount and are grateful.

Maybelle is the kitty who walked right up to me outside the Sanctuary. A due dilligence search was made for her "owner," which was a dead end. Why? Because he refused to answer my calls or texts and blocked me. We are now able to place her for adoption. She is about nine years old and very sweet, Maine Coon mix. She's in very good health and had only one extraction.

Snow, on the other hand - is in very bad shape. She was found lying in the middle of the sidewalk in Tampa by an 89-year old gentleman. He brought her inside while he searched for a rescue to take her. A week went by; she was barely eating. I learned of her situation, and we connected. She is horrifically anemic with a raging infection in her 4.5 lb. body. Snow's on four different meds and needs to be syringe fed, which she fights. Hopefully, the Mirtapazine will kick in and she will get some sort of appetite back. Dr. West will reexamine her on Friday (if she makes it till then) and, if her blood levels are high enough and the infection is gone, Snow will receive a full mouth extraction. I'm holding my breath - every time I go into her room, I'm not sure she will still be breathing. While we did have some funds left over from Little Miss Ashley's non-amputation, we are still short to cover these bills and (hopefully) Snow's dental on Friday.
