There are those who will tell me that I should not have taken in the two "carrier babies" crammed into a carrier with mom and three siblings, left in the middle of the road in the sun. PCAS told the finder to "just leave them there." All other rescues he contacted refused. Despite being closed to admissions, we took in four kittens today. Two from the carrier approx. three months old, one little brown tabby/Maine Coon boy taken from a car engine at 1.2 lbs; one calico weighing .97 lbs found in the bushes around the corner. The two teenie-tinies (photos coming soon) are in a large carrier in the kitchen, cuddled up together with full bellies. The other two are in the nursery in a "condo" separated from the 14 and Minx. I lightened the finder's load by taking two of the five as I continue to reach out to other larger rescues in Pinellas and Hillsborough to take mom and three kittens. We provided him with plenty of food, litter and litterbox, toys, dewormer, capstar and Revolution. This man is disabled, on SSD, and has a huge heart. He wants help cleaning up his neighborhood (TNVR) near the Government Center in NPR. I couldn't find anyone to help with TNVR, I was told that he should "do it himself" by one organization and received no response from another. So I guess it will be me helping him, once I get back my trap and get my hands on a few others.
As you already know, we are struggling mightily with funds and help here at the Sanctuary. If you can offer a few hours a week, please DM me. If you can, PLEASE donate funds. Even $5 will help. Link below. The struggle is real. There are hundreds upon hundreds more where these babies came from. There are not enough rescuers or homes to save them all. It is heartbreaking.
