Fernando-

I'm numb. For the last year, I've always known that the day wasn't too far away when we'd have to help our dear boy cross over. Every night at the same time, I'd bring him his meds in a pill wrap. How he loved that wrap, so he'd always get extra wrap, no med! As soon as I entered his favorite room, he'd run over to me, chatting away - knowing he was about to be treated! On his last night with us, as he ran from me instead of to me, I realized it was time. On June 30, 2025 at approximately 3:10 p.m. Fernando left this world, cuddled in my arms. His passing was gentle and painless, thanks to Dr. Cathy of Lap of Love.

While I knew this beautiful boi for only twelve days, the pain of losing him is intense. Euthanasia is never easy.

When I went to check on the cats hanging out on the front porch, I discovered the body of one of our sweet favorites, Tommy. He was laying headfirst in one of his favorite condos, his body slightly warm to the touch. Just yesterday as he ate, I petted him and said "I love you, Tommy. You don't look so well - are you okay?" He stopped eating, gave me a head butt, and resumed eating. Here is his story:

We took this old, sweet guy in from the streets back in August of 2021. He was a mess - he needed all his teeth removed; he tested positive for FIV and had horrific allergies causing extreme loss of fur and sores all over his frail body. We covered him with love and excellent veterinary care, and Tommy turned into one gorgeous boy. He got along with every cat that came, went or stayed as well as both dogs and all visitors. He brought me nothing but joy and not a moment of trouble. Tommy was a favorite at his vets and with all the volunteers. All he wanted was love, and to hang out on the screened porch with his friends. I miss him so much already. Run free, Tommy, with your buddies from The Little Cats' Rescue Sanctuary. Till we meet again - and we WILL meet again. I love you.
