We received a call from a distraught woman, who had been feeding this guy for two weeks. She said he never moved from that spot, and she was returning to MA, so he needed to be rescued. He couldn't be TNRd back to this location, as the conditions were deplorable, and there was no one to feed and monitor him. We brought him in, hoping he would test negative and be friendly enough to be adopted. There was no other place for him to go. When he arrived at the Sanctuary, he was pretty riled up and scratched me, drawing a lot of blood. He was kept in quarantine for ten days, as the law and good sense require. When he cleared quarantine, he was tested for FIV and FeLV, both negative. He was neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. Now, Gonzo is just chilling out, recovering from all his difficulties. We will continue to monitor him and, hopefully, he will be adoptable. If not, he has a forever home here, as long as he can peacefully co-exist. We're gonna believe for the best outcome for him. He's only three years old! Gonzo was 11 lbs. upon arrival and now, two weeks later, weighs in at 13 lbs!
